What a night, Victoria! Thunderstorms are a rare spectacle over Vancouver Island, making last night's event quite special!
Amidst the severe weather, the Sidney Market had to cancel just hours before it was set to begin.
One of the vendors (Sidney Scones), who had prepared hundreds of scones for the market, took to social media to announce that she would keep her shop open late despite the cancellation.
The power of social media worked wonders, as people lined up for hours, braving the thunder and pouring rain. She ended up selling over 1,900 scones, marking her best sales day in over a decade.
